Materials: Steel and Marble
This piece is based on the struggle of life and death. A personal struggle is shown through the harsh ageing metal ribcage that is wrapping around the pure polished marble lungs, taking the lungs life. Taking the life from itself.
This piece was in regards to a memory of my father (who was a first responder for 9-11) coming home after 9-11 for a brief moment to bring us gas masks, only for him to leave again back down into the city.
Material: Plexiglass, steel, tree branch, water, and dirt.
The bookcase is a play off of the fact that it is the molecular structure of Fluorescein which is something in ones eye that detects foreign objects and gets rid of it. The person who takes a book off the bookshelf is removing a foreign object from that space to view it with their eyes.
